Drood (Little, Brown & Co, 2009) is a novel about Charles Dickens and his literary character Edwin Drood. The story is told by Wilkie Collins, another great Victorian writer. But the novel is also telling the story of Vicotorian London, about writing, jealousy and fear.I haven’t read a good book in a while, so I was really grateful after finfishing this. It’s really, really good. At first, I was a bit put off by the 770 pages, but don’t be! This is brilliant!
I say: ****(*)

I got this book from the library a while back but ended up having to return it before I could start it- just too busy! I do plan on getting it again soon- it looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt's great.
ReplyDeleteI got scared of the vast number of pages, though; it took me two lendings before I actually read it...
