Isaac Newton by James Gleick

James Gleick's Isaac Newton (Pantheon, 2003) was nominated to the Pulitzer Prize in 2003, and I can see why. This book was so interesting and fun to read that I just couldn't stop. I had to ignore a lot of "must-do's" and just read. Partly, this is due to Isaac Newton himself. He was a fascinating person. Almost possesed by science (although he was reluctant to publish his results) he spent his life alone with almost no friends and at times didn't even leave his house.

However, fascinating persons can be made boring in any biography, so James Gleick's writing has something to do with me not being able to stop reading.

I read the book in Swedish translation (Isaac Newton, Historiska Media, 2003).
